In France, since December 24, 2006, in accordance with the decree of May 29, 1997, any device and/or accessory in contact with drinking water intended for human consumption must have ACS Certification (Attestation de Conformite Sanitaire - Health Compliance Certificate). Certain materials and objects when they come into contact with water intended for human consumption can cause degradation of water quality, whether organoleptic, physico-chemical or microbiological, and can generate health risks for consumers. Non-compliance with ACS Certification during an inspection by the DGCCRF (General Directorate for Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control) results in fines and product withdrawal as well as other penalties that can extend to criminal sanctions. To meet the current ACS standard, ATMI was the first manufacturer to develop level switches and level regulators with special materials, all ACS certified. |
