SOLIBA EX GP
"Safety that tilts in your favor"

"The world's only ATEX tilt level detector to secure your silos"

The SOLIBA EX GP is an ATEX-certified level detector specially designed for automatic filling control of silos or storage cells in explosive atmosphere zones classified 0, 1, 2 (gas) and 20, 21 and 22 (dust).

Its operating principle is based on tilt technology: installed inside the hopper or silo, the detector tilts under the pressure of the forming product slope, triggering the filling shutdown.

ATMI is the only manufacturer in the world to offer this mechanical tilt technology for level detection in grains and powdered materials.

The SOLIBA EX GP level detector can be safely used in installations already equipped with other detection systems (rotary paddles, vibrating probes, capacitive sensors, ultrasound, radar, etc.).

Operating principle

Securing installations by tilting

Installed inside the silo, hopper or storage cell, it is suspended at the end of its electrical cable.

During filling, the bulk material (grains, powders, granules, etc.) forms a slope.

When the slope reaches the detector, it causes it to tilt.

The change in tilt then activates an electrical contact, which sends a stop or command signal to the automation system (e.g. stopping the filling, triggering an alarm, etc.).

ATMI
During silo filling, the SOLIBA level detector is suspended vertically.

ATMI
When the high level is reached, the level detector tilts and stops the silo filling.

Detector mounting

The float level switch can be suspended via the cable sheath, using a support or the cable fixing accessory (FIXCAB), which allows proper fixing of the electrical cable at the desired height and allows precise adjustment at any time.

Be careful when using clamps or other elements during mounting that may damage the cable and deteriorate the device by allowing water to enter inside the float level switch by capillarity.

Detector positioning

The triggering of the level detector (switching angle) may vary depending on its position relative to the slope formed by the bulk material, but especially depending on the positioning of the ballast or the fixing point

You have the possibility to adjust the fixing point or the counterweight on the device cable. Thus, the greater the distance between the ballast and the detector, the greater the switching angle, and consequently the later the level detection.

To adjust the ballast on the cable, simply pull on the plastic or resin ballast to unclip it from the clamping ring or O-ring. Then, slide the clamping ring / O-ring to the desired location and replace the ballast on it, so that the weight is locked on the cable.

Electrical connection

ATMI

In outdoor or wet areas, the electrical connection of the float level switch must be waterproof and properly insulated in a sealed box, thus preventing water or other contaminants from entering the cable. This helps prevent water infiltration that could compromise the safety of electrical connections as well as the lifespan of the float.

The electrical junction box must never be placed inside the tank. The cable and its capillary can be extended using a standard signal cable.

We equip our floats with the cable length you want to avoid connections that would harm their operation.

Key points

Tilt detection

Tilt detection

The SOLIBA EX GP is a simple and reliable mechanical solution to secure your installations compared to other types of equipment such as vibrating paddles, capacitive probes, ultrasound, radar, etc.

Robustness designed to last

Robustness designed to last

The SOLIBA EX GP is specially designed to withstand the most demanding conditions of bulk storage environments. During filling phases, the falling grain can generate significant abrasion at the point of impact.

To cope with these constraints, the detector is equipped with a double Hypalon envelope, a material recognized for its exceptional resistance to wear, impact and mechanical stress.

The SOLIBA EX GP thus offers a durable, reliable solution adapted to abrasive industrial environments, without compromise on performance.

Cylindrical shape

Cylindrical shape

Thanks to its cylindrical shape, the detector does not sink into the grain during detection phases. This geometry ensures excellent position stability guaranteeing reliable and repeatable detection over time.

✔ Constant operation
