The AQUA MEDIUM self-ballasted level regulator or float level switch with internal ballast, is technically identical to the AQUA XL level regulator, but in a more compact format, ideal for installations with limited space.
Just like the XL model, the AQUA MEDIUM self-ballasted level regulator is designed to operate in demanding environments and can pass through grease layers that may form on liquid surfaces.
Thanks to its small differential angle of 10', it can be used as a high alarm or low alarm, offering high detection precision.
The AQUA MEDIUM self-ballasted level regulator is particularly suitable for small tanks, compact pumping stations or restricted technical areas.
⚠️ Warning: due to its design, it is not recommended for agitated liquids. In this case, prefer the level switches from the BIP STOP/AT range.

Drainage or FillingThe AQUA MEDIUM self-ballasted float level regulator operates on the principle of tilt-based level detection.
The float is equipped with a three-conductor cable (COM, NO, NC), allowing the operating mode to be selected during wiring: Used in pairs with another float of the same type, the AQUA MEDIUM self-ballasted float level regulator allows automatic control of the minimum and maximum levels of a tank, ensuring reliable liquid level management. In drainage mode, the self-ballasted float level regulator triggers the pump start in the high position (overflow protection). An electric current flows through the float to the connected device (control relay, pumps, valves, alarms).
Once the tank is empty, the self-ballasted float level regulator cuts the electrical circuit to protect the equipment (pumps) in the absence of water in the tank.
In filling mode, the electrical circuit inside the switch closes (NC) when the switch is in the low position. Thus, the pump starts to fill the tank.

Due to its design with integrated internal counterweight, the float does not allow adjustment of the tilt angle, unlike float level regulators with external ballast on cable.
Therefore, the triggering level remains constant, regardless of the cable fixing point.

The indicative switching stroke is as follows:

Float fixingThe float level switch can be suspended via the cable sheath, using the fixing accessory, FIXCAB, which allows proper fixing of the electrical cable at the desired height and allows precise adjustment at any time. Be careful when using clamps or other elements during fixing which can damage the cable and deteriorate the device by allowing water to enter inside the float level switch by capillarity.

Electrical connectionIn outdoor or humid spaces, the electrical connection of the float level switch must be waterproof and properly insulated in a hermetic box, thus preventing water or other contaminants from entering the cable. This prevents water infiltration that could compromise the safety of electrical connections as well as the lifespan of the float. The electrical connection box must never be placed inside the tank. The cable and its capillary can be extended using a standard signal cable. We equip our floats with the cable length you want to avoid connections that would harm their operation.
