Float rotation point

The external cable ballast, also called counterweight, is an essential element for proper operation of a pear-shaped float level switch. It constitutes the float rotation point, allowing precise definition of triggering levels according to the desired liquid level.

External ballast is particularly essential when cable length exceeds one meter and it is not fixed, to ensure reliable and stable operation.

Fixed on the float cable, the ballast allows precise control of movement and tilting of the pear-shaped float level switch.

⚠️ It is strongly inadvisable to use clamps or any other device to replace the ballast, as these may damage the cable and deteriorate the device.

ATMI offers different types of external ballast, compatible with all pear-shaped float level switches.

Controlled rotation point

Our different ballast or counterweights allow defining the rotation point of the pear-shaped float level switch, ensuring precise triggering.

Quick adjustment

Quick adjustment

External ballast are easily adjustable on the cable, particularly removable or clip-on models, which can be added at any time, including on existing installations.

Ensured stability

Ensured stability

Ballast allow the float to adapt effectively to turbulence and liquid movement, ensuring stable operation even in agitated environments (pumping, filling, agitation). Furthermore, ballast ensure optimal float operation across a wide range of liquid densities
