AQUA MEDIUM EP
ACS Certified

A compact regulator for drinking water!

The AQUA MEDIUM EP self-ballasted float level regulator, ACS certified (Attestation de Conformite Sanitaire), is specially designed for use in drinking water intended for human consumption.

Manufactured with materials compliant with sanitary standards, it offers a reliable and hygienic solution for water level control in reservoirs, pumping stations and compact installations.

Its tilting operation allows the opening or closing of a circuit connected to a control system, ensuring pump automation or alarm management (high or low).

Thanks to its small differential angle of 10deg;, it allows precise level control.

⚠️ Not recommended for agitated liquids, use instead the SOBA EP or ATS 165 EP ACS certified level switch.

Operating principle

Drainage or Filling

The AQUA MEDIUM EP self-ballasted float level regulator operates on the principle of tilt-based level detection.
The float moves up and down freely with the liquid level in the tank.

When the liquid reaches a certain predefined level, the float tilts, causing the opening or closing of an integrated mechanical switch according to the selected operating mode (filling or drainage).

The float is equipped with a three-conductor cable (COM, NO, NC), allowing selection of the operating mode during wiring:

Used in pairs with another float of the same type, it allows regulation of the minimum and maximum levels of a tank.

Drainage mode

In drainage mode, the self-ballasted float level regulator triggers the pump start in the high position (anti-overflow). An electric current passes through the float to the connected device (control relay, pumps, valves, alarms).

Once the tank is empty, the self-ballasted float level regulator cuts the electrical circuit to protect the equipment (pumps) in the absence of water in the tank.

Filling mode

In filling mode, the electrical circuit inside the switch closes (NC) when the switch is in the low position. Thus, the pump starts to fill the tank.

Installation guide

Positioning

The triggering of the self-ballasted float level switch (switching angle) may vary depending on liquid agitation, filling/drainage flow rate but does not vary depending on the fixing point.

Due to its design with integrated internal counterweight, the float does not allow adjustment of the tilt angle, unlike float level regulators with external ballast on cable.

Therefore, the trigger level remains constant, regardless of the cable fixing point.

For the AQUA MEDIUM EP model, the indicative switching stroke is as follows:

Min. value Y = Any >>>  X ≈ 17-20 CM

Float fixing

The float level switch can be suspended via the cable sheath, using the FIXCAB cable fixing accessory, which allows proper fixing of the electrical cable at the desired height and allows precise adjustment at any time.

Be careful when using clamps or other elements during fixing that may damage the cable and deteriorate the device by allowing water to enter the float level switch by capillarity.

ATMI

Electrical connection

In outdoor or humid spaces, the electrical connection of the float level switch must be waterproof and properly insulated in a hermetic box, thus preventing water or other contaminants from entering the cable. This helps prevent water infiltration that could compromise the safety of electrical connections as well as the lifespan of the float.

The electrical connection box must never be placed inside the tank. The cable and its capillary can be extended using a standard signal cable.

We equip our floats with the cable length you want to avoid connections that would impair their operation.

Key points

Low trigger angle

Low trigger angle

The AQUA MEDIUM EP self-ballasted float level regulator allows fast and precise detection on multiple levels thanks to its switching angle of +/- 10 degrees.
