SOLIBA
The detector that prevents overflow

Your reference for silo filling shutdown

SOLIBA is a level detector specifically designed for automatic shutdown of silo or storage cell filling.

Its operating principle is based on tilt technology: installed inside the hopper or silo, the detector tilts under the push of the forming product slope, thus triggering the filling shutdown.

ATMI is the only manufacturer in the world to offer this mechanical tilt technology for level detection in grains and powdered materials.

The SOLIBA level detector can be safely used in installations already equipped with other detection systems (rotary paddles, vibrating probes, capacitive probes, ultrasonic, radar, etc.).

Operating principle

Securing installations by tilt

Installed inside the silo, hopper or storage cell, it is suspended at the end of its electrical cable.

During filling, the bulk material (grains, powders, pellets, etc.) forms a slope.

When the slope reaches the detector, it causes it to tilt.

The change in inclination then activates an electrical contact, which sends a stop or control signal to the automation system (e.g. filling stop, alarm triggering, etc.).

Installation guide

Detector positioning

The triggering of the level detector (switching angle) may vary depending on its position relative to the slope formed by the bulk material, but especially depending on the positioning of the ballast or the fixing point

You have the possibility to adjust the fixing point or the counterweight on the device cable. Thus, the greater the distance between the ballast and the detector, the greater the switching angle, and consequently the later the level detection.

To adjust the ballast on the cable, simply pull on the plastic or resin ballast to unclip it from the clamping ring or O-ring. Then slide the clamping ring / O-ring to the desired location and replace the ballast on top, so that the weight is locked on the cable.

Detector mounting

The float level switch can be suspended via the cable sheath, using the FIXCAB fixing accessory, which allows correct fixing of the electrical cable at the desired height and allows precise adjustment at any time.

Be careful when using clamps or other elements during installation, which can damage the cable and deteriorate the device by allowing water to enter inside the float level switch by capillarity.

ATMI

Electrical connection

In outdoor or humid spaces, the electrical connection of the float level switch must be watertight and properly insulated in a sealed box, thus preventing water or other contaminants from entering the cable. This helps prevent water infiltration that could compromise the safety of electrical connections as well as the lifespan of the float.

The electrical connection box must never be placed inside the tank. The cable and its capillary can be extended using a standard signal cable.

We equip our floats with the cable length you want to avoid connections that would harm their operation.

Key points

Tilt detection

Tilt detection

The SOLIBA level detector is a simple and reliable mechanical solution to secure your installations compared to other types of equipment such as vibrating forks, capacitive probes, ultrasound, radar, etc.

Robustness designed to last

Robustness designed to last

The SOLIBA level detector is specially designed to withstand the most demanding conditions of bulk storage environments. During filling phases, falling grain can generate significant abrasion at the impact point.

To meet these constraints, the detector is equipped with a high-resistance polypropylene housing, a material recognized for its exceptional resistance to wear, impacts and mechanical stress.

The SOLIBA level detector thus offers a durable, reliable solution adapted to abrasive industrial environments, without compromising performance.

Biconical shape

Biconical shape

Thanks to its biconical shape, the detector does not sink into the grain during detection phases. This geometry ensures excellent positional stability guaranteeing reliable and repeatable detection over time.
