The AQUA XL EP self-ballasted float level regulator, ACS certified (Attestation de Conformite Sanitaire), is specially designed for use in drinking water for human consumption.
Manufactured with materials compliant with sanitary standards, it guarantees safe and hygienic use, while offering the robustness that has made the AQUA XL range's reputation.
Ideal for demanding applications such as drinking water pumping stations, storage reservoirs or water treatment systems, the float tilts under the liquid's pressure, opening or closing a circuit connected to a control panel to automate pumps or trigger an alarm.
The AQUA XL EP self-ballasted float level regulator is equipped with a special ACS certified cable, halogen-free, resistant and suitable for sensitive environments such as railway, shipbuilding or nuclear.
Thanks to its small differential angle of 10deg;, it can be used in high alarm or low alarm, offering precise water level control.
⚠️ Warning: the AQUA XL EP model is not recommended for agitated liquids. For these applications, prefer the ATS 165 EP level switch, also ACS certified.

Drainage or FillingThe AQUA XL EP self-ballasted float level regulator operates on the principle of tilt-based level detection.
The float is equipped with a three-conductor cable (COM, NO, NC), allowing the selection of the operating mode during wiring: Used in combination with another float of the same type, it allows regulation of the minimum and maximum levels of a tank.
|
In drainage mode, the self-ballasted float level regulator activates the pump start in high position (anti-overflow). An electrical current flows through the float to the connected device (control relay, pumps, valves, alarms).
Once the tank is empty, the self-ballasted float level regulator cuts the electrical circuit to protect the equipment (pumps) in the absence of water in the tank.
In filling mode, the electrical circuit inside closes (NC) when the switch is in low position. Thus, the pump starts to fill the tank.
PositioningThe triggering of the self-ballasted float level switch (switching angle) may vary depending on liquid agitation, filling/drainage flow rate but does not vary depending on the fixing point. |
Due to its design with integrated internal ballast, the float does not allow adjustment of the tilt angle, unlike level regulators with external ballast on cable.
Therefore, the trigger level remains constant, regardless of the cable fixing point.
The AQUA XL EP self-ballasted level regulator allows fast and precise detection at multiple levels thanks to its low switching angle.
The indicative switching travel is as follows:
Min value Y = Any >>> X ≈ 17-20 CM
Float fixingThe float level switch can be suspended via the cable sheath, using the FIXCAB cable fixing accessory, which allows proper fixing of the electrical cable at the desired height and enables precise adjustment at any time. Be careful when using clamps or other elements during fixing that can damage the cable and deteriorate the device by allowing water to enter inside the float level switch by capillary action.
|
Electrical connectionIn outdoor or humid spaces, the electrical connection of the float level switch must be waterproof and properly insulated in a hermetic box, thus preventing water or other contaminants from entering the cable. This helps prevent water infiltration that could compromise the safety of electrical connections as well as the float's service life. The electrical junction box must never be placed inside the tank. The cable and its capillary can be extended using a standard signal cable. We equip our floats with the cable length you need to avoid connections that would impair their operation. |
To best define the float level switch suited to your needs, ATMI offers a wide range of level switches for liquids and solids in various applications.
