Using a float level switch or float level regulator is the simplest and most reliable method to control the level of liquids or the level of solids in containers. With a float level switch or float level regulator, the device is suspended by means of a flexible electrical cable. When the level reaches the height of the regulator, the float level switch or float level regulator tilts and the mechanical contact will close or open the circuit, thus controlling the stop or start of a pump or alarm.
The liquid level regulators offered by ATMI are omnidirectional float level switches tilting under the thrust of liquids, thus closing or opening a circuit connected to a control panel. Simply place the floats at the desired high and low levels, without level differential limitation, to obtain pump regulation for example. A third float placed even higher allows connecting an audible or visual alarm, essential in case of overflow. For a second pump, another float at the desired level will trigger its start, the bottom device is common to all pumps. This is the simplest, most economical and most widespread level control system.
