How to measure the level of a grain and cereal silo? With ATMI, the solid level sensor SOLIBA allows measuring the level of various solids, including cereals such as oats, sunflower, rice, wheat, soybean, barley, oats, winter barley.
To measure the cereal level in your silo, hopper or other container, you must place the detector at the maximum fill level you have chosen.
When the silo fills up, a cereal slope will form, pushing the detector. It will tilt and activate solenoid valves, PLCs. ATMI recommends placing the detector on the opposite side of the tank filling or leaving sufficient space from the silo wall for optimal movement.
This device with very simple mechanical operation has several advantages: it is very resistant, will not bury itself even with low-density cereals. Moreover, it is dust-resistant. Indeed, even completely covered with dust, it will continue to operate without deterioration. Activating only when the high level is reached, it enables energy savings. To measure cereal levels in an explosive atmosphere, you must choose another model from the SOLIBA range: the Soliba EX P and the Soliba EX GP.
