The process used for float level switches for solids combines efficiency and simplicity. It operates when the storage level reaches the level detector. The latter, which was suspended vertically, tilts under the pressure of the grains. When it reaches a tilt of 10°, it triggers the filling stop.
The reverse phenomenon also occurs when the silo level has emptied enough for the detector to return to a less tilted position.
For non-explosive zones, our level sensors for solids are available under the SOLIBA range (SOLIBA and SOLIBA SPECIAL).
We also offer ATEX certified level detectors for explosive zones, the SOLIBA EX P and SOLIBA EX GP float level switches. They meet the requirements of the European ATEX directive 94/9/EC. They are particularly recommended for flour silos, organic powdered materials and corn which can create explosive dust clouds.
