ATMI renews its Sanitary Compliance Certificate for its family of level detectors intended for drinking water applications. The certificate was issued on June 24, 2026 and remains valid until June 24, 2031. It covers eight of our references: SOBA EP, ATS 165 EP, AQUA MEDIUM EP, AQUA XL EP, AT 120 EP, BIP STOP EP, SOBA SMALL EP and SOBA S EP.
This renewal confirms the sanitary compliance of the products concerned and secures their use in installations where floats come into contact with water intended for human consumption. It also provides clear assurance to operators, installers and distributors who must choose equipment adapted to drinking water requirements.
The Sanitary Compliance Certificate verifies that a product can come into contact with drinking water without altering its quality. This requirement concerns materials used in equipment installed in networks, tanks, cisterns, water towers or pumping stations.
A float level switch used in drinking water is therefore chosen according to the nature of its materials. Some components can modify the taste, composition or microbiological quality of water when they are not suitable. The ACS helps control this risk.
The ACS certificate renewed by ATMI covers a range of eight level detector references intended for drinking water applications. Inertia tests were carried out from December 2 to 19, 2025 and the results comply with applicable requirements.
The European Drinking Water Directive is changing the regulatory framework for materials and products in contact with water intended for human consumption as it prepares harmonization of requirements at European level. This evolution directly concerns manufacturers, distributors and operators involved in drinking water installations.
The ACS remains today the French reference framework but the Drinking Water Directive is gradually preparing a common European system. This transition reinforces the importance of proof of compliance and product traceability.
In a period when European regulations are evolving, this continuity matters, the renewal of our ACS certification helps secure specifications, purchases and product replacements in existing installations.
ATMI ACS certified float level switches operate in installations where drinking water must be stored, regulated or pumped. Their role is to detect a level, transmit information, control a pump or secure a threshold. Their difference lies in their compatibility with water intended for human consumption and must therefore comply with a set of strict rules related to sanitary requirements.
For professionals, the renewal of ACS certification simplifies equipment selection as it confirms that ATMI references can be used in drinking water applications.
For users, this compliance remains invisible and sometimes unknown. However, it contributes to the quality of water that comes out of the tap and the float level switch contributes to the proper operation of installations that store and regulate drinking water.
The renewal of ATMI's ACS certification therefore reminds us that in drinking water every component matters.
A float level switch also contributes to the safety of water intended for consumption.
ATMI, level under control.
