For direct connection to the pump, ATMI has developed BIP STOP, an on/off float-type level switch that is ideally suited to the automation of small pumps. This BIP STOP pear-shaped float is designed for pump automation, with a single unit providing alarm, low-water cut-out and fill-stop functions.
BIP STOP is quite simply a level switch that opens or closes the power supply circuit to the pumps, either directly or via a relay. It is the distance between the float and the cable’s fixing point that determines the control differential (which varies depending on the model: a maximum of 1.50 m is recommended).
The BIP STOP float-type level switch is generally used with small pumps and cellar drainage pumps in liquid mixtures with little agitation.
This float-type level switch (on/off) enables the automation of small pumps either directly (up to 1.5 CV) via its 20 A (400 V) microswitch, or via a relay for unlimited power.
Thanks to its wide differential angle of 110º, the BIP STOP level switch enables a smooth level switch-over on pump motors and electrical equipment in highly agitated liquids. It also allows both high and low levels to be detected in the same tank, provided the hysteresis does not exceed 1.5 m.
This level switch is used wherever magnetic level switches cannot be used due to impurities or deposits that could cause the magnetic float to become jammed.
